We have the Disney Dining plan for our 7 year old. If we go to a restaurant with a buffet, can she eat from that if she prefers?

    Hi Lee Ann,

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope you're having fun planning a vacation to the most magical place on earth with your Princess! I'm glad to see you're thinking about one of my favorite parts of a Disney vacation...food! Whether cherishing a special visit with a beloved Character or devouring a new favorite dish, my family has enjoyed many delicious, fun, and magical meals at the Walt Disney World Resort through the years.

I'm happy to let you know that yes, at restaurants that offer all-you-care-to-enjoy family style or buffet meals, those options will always be available for children, too. Each restaurant will have a separate price for kids, and if the restaurant participates in the Disney Dining Plan, you'll use either one or two dining entitlements per person for your buffet meal, depending on the restaurant.

I'd definitely encourage you to make your advanced dining reservations as early as possible! The window opens 180 days beforehand, and some restaurants fill up quickly! You may begin calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 at 7:00 a.m. Eastern time or booking online as early as 5:45 a.m. Eastern time when that window opens. If you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you'll have the added benefit of being able to make advanced dining reservations for the entire length of your stay, up to 10 days, at that 180-day point.

I hope you and your family have a magical and delicious vacation, Lee Ann!
