Is the Disney 2014 dining plan worth it? I am going to Disney in July and I am struggling to make a decision. It is only for 2 adults and it will cost somewhere around 800-900$. I would love to find out your thoughts on it. what are the pros and cons?

    Hi Pricilla,

The Disney Dining Plan has some advantages and disadvantages. I will point out some of each and you can make the decision.

Since this is for two adults, you need to look at the types of restaurants you will be dining at as well as the amount of food you would be eating on a daily basis. I generally recommend the basic dining plan with a counter service, a table service and a snack daily for most guest if they are going to get the plan. This general provides enough food for a guest. Personally, I can not eat all of the food at the table service meal but I am not a big eater.

If you are going to signature restaurants like California Grill or the Yachtman Steakhouse nightly, the dining plan works to your advantage as you are pay a lower price point for your food. A meal at these restaurant could cost you $50-$75 a person and you would do better on the deluxe dining plan.

If you are someone who likes sandwiches, salads or simpler meals, you might do better paying out of pocket.

I would look at the menus at the restaurants you are going to be dining at for a table service meal and compare the price of it a la carte. This is the best way to judge if the plan is right for you.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
