I have the Disney Dining Plan and am trying to make dinner reservations. Why is it asking for a credit card and will it be charged even though I have the dining plan?

    Hello Trinity,

My family loves the Disney Dining Plan so much that we make it part of almost every Disney trip we take!  We've been able to enjoy so many great restaurants we otherwise wouldn't have tried (and my kids love getting dessert after dinner each night).  When you make your dining reservations, a credit card will be required just as a guarantee.  You won't be charged anything unless you don't arrive for your reservation or miss the cancellation deadline, which is midnight (EST) the day before.  In those cases, a $10 per person fee may be charged to that credit card.  There are just a few dining spots that are exceptions to this rule and require prepayment in full, including Cinderella's Royal Table, Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and Mickey's Backyard BBQ.  However, you can still use the Disney Dining Plan for those.  When you arrive, simply talk to the Cast Members to have that payment refunded and your credits used as payment instead.

Wishing you a magical vacation and delicious dining, Trinity!  Please let us know if we can help answer any other questions.
