For the Disney Dining Plan - Are you allowed to use a la carte dining options in place of a quick service or table service option?

    Hi Audrey! Welcome to planDisney!

As I'm sure many Guests were, I was very excited for the Disney Dining Plan to return last year. Adding this plan to your Disney vacation package allows you to pay for your meals ahead of time and reduces any stress of budgeting while you are there. It allows you to fully focus on all the fun to be had on a Walt Disney World vacation!

There are two options when adding a dining plan. You can pick between the Disney Dining Plan and the Quick Service Dining Plan. The main difference is the Disney Dining Plan allows for 1 Table Service Meal each night of your stay, while the Quick Service Dining Plan will only allow for Quick Service meals throughout your visit. With either option, you will get to choose from the menu provided at each location. The Table Service Meal allows a choice of an entrée, dessert, and beverage from the regular dining menu. Essentially, it's very similar to ordering a la carte at any dining location you may visit since you will not have a limited menu to choose from when dining. There are a few locations that offer buffet or family-style meals. In these situations, you will not place an order for food. You'll simply enjoy the cuisine that is served at that location.

To answer your question, you will get to pick items from the regular menu offered at any dining location included with the dining plan you choose. For example, if you have your heart set on the Chilean Sea Bass at Flying Fish, that will be a choice you can make by using the Disney Dining Plan. The same goes if you are craving a Lobster Roll at Columbia Harbour House, you can use your Quick-Service Meal for that item.

Audrey, I hope this helps you understand the Disney Dining Plan better. If you have additional questions, please stop back and see us again at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
