Does the Disney dining plan act as a "discount" if you add more food/drink? For example if you add an extra appetizer or drink does your plan take care of what it covers; then you pay out of pocket for the extra? Thank you!

Howdy Zach! Welcome to planDisney, where you will find the rootinest, tootinest Disney vacation enthusiasts this side of Walt Disney World! I’m so glad you stopped by with your excellent question about the Disney Dining Plan. It would be my pleasure to *round up* an answer for you about one of my favorite components of a vacation package.

The Disney Dining Plan offers everyone in the party, ages 3 and over, 1 quick-service meal, 1 table-service meal, and 1 snack/alcoholic drink per night of stay. Meals and snacks can be redeemed at any time during your stay.  Your quick-service meal includes 1 entrée and 1 nonalcoholic beverage (or alcoholic beverage for Guests ages 21 and older). A table-service meal redeemed at breakfast includes 1 entrée and 1 nonalcoholic beverage (or alcoholic beverage for Guests ages 21 and older) or 1 buffet or family-style meal and 1 nonalcoholic beverage (or alcoholic beverage for Guests ages 21 and older). Meals redeemed at lunch, brunch, or dinner include 1 entrée, 1 dessert, and 1 nonalcoholic beverage (or alcoholic beverage for Guests ages 21 and older) or 1 buffet or family-style meal and nonalcoholic beverage (or alcoholic beverage for Guests ages 21 and older).

When you enjoy a quick-service or table-service meal, your Disney Dining Plan will cover the items listed above. Anything you purchase beyond that, such as an appetizer or additional beverage, will require you to pay out of pocket after your Dining Plan entitlements are deducted.

I hope you have a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort and a bunch of fabulous meals with your Disney Dining Plan! You’ve got a friend in me, Zach, in all of us here at planDisney! Stop by whenever we can help answer your Disney vacation questions.
