Ahoy there, Allyson! A Disney Cruise is always a good idea in my book, so I’m glad you sailed by planDisney with your question.
Sailing with Disney during Christmastime is my absolute favorite time to cruise. The decorations are magical and the Cast Members go above and beyond to make holidays extra memorable. At this time, it does not look like the
5-Night Bahamian Cruise from Fort Lauderdale on the Disney Destiny sailing at Christmas is categorized as a
Very Merrytime cruise. If Disney Cruise Line does decide to dress it up for the holidays, we likely wouldn’t hear about those Christmas Day festivities until a little later, as specific ship activities are typically released around 6 months before embarkation.
I would imagine sailings that coincide with holidays are typically offered at a higher rate because they also align with school holidays. If you are able to travel a little earlier in December, you could still experience a
Very Merrytime cruise out of Fort Lauderdale on the Disney Dream at a great price. But if you want to sail on the
Disney Destiny (and I can understand why!), a
Land and Sea package where you experience the holiday wonder at Walt Disney World Resort and then sail with Disney Cruise Line sounds like the perfect holiday present for your family.
Whichever cruise you decide on, I recommend downloading the free
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App before you set sail so you have the ship’s full activity schedule available in the palm of your hand. If you think of any other questions before the holidays, or want more itinerary details closer to your trip, I hope you’ll head back to us here at
planDisney.
Happy sailing!
