Hello! I’m so excited about my Disney cruise early next year, but I was wondering if a foldable potty stool for my youngest is allowed on the ship? I don’t want it taken when we get on the ship. Thank you for your time!

Hiya, Raelene! How exciting that you already have a Disney Cruise planned for next January and you thought to visit us here at planDisney. I can’t wait to see what Mousketools I can come up with to help you with your question.

My youngest was potty training on our very first Disney Cruise years ago, so I can understand why you want to keep their routine as consistent as possible during that stage. While I discovered that you may bring a travel-size potty/toilet training seat onboard to use in the stateroom bathroom, unfortunately, collapsible or folding step stools may not be brought onboard.

Whatever you decide to bring with you, may I suggest packing it in a carry-on bag so it can be inspected when you check in at the port. That way, if they do by chance deem it a prohibited item, they can take it from you without delaying your checked baggage from being delivered to your stateroom. You would then receive written instructions onboard before debarkation day informing you when and where to pick up your item after you get off the ship.

If you have any questions about what to pack for your Disney Cruise and can’t call on Toodles for help, just refer to this handy packing list. Speaking of Toodles, Mickey Mouse, and the rest of his Clubhouse Pals, make sure you download the free Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before setting sail so you have all the ship’s activities, including Character Greeting times, in the palm of your hand. And if your kids are old enough for the Oceaneer Lab, you’ll also find those hours on the app as well.

You’ll be saying ‘Super Cheers’ to all your Disney friends at sea before you know it. If you think of any other puzzles you need help solving before then, I hope you’ll visit us at planDisney again.

    ‘Sea’ ya real soon!
