Hi, We are going to be going to Disney for 12 days. Have purchased the 10 day tickets. Can we add 2 days to those or do we have to buy a separate 2 day ticket?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Eleanor!

My family was lucky enough to have a 12-day vacation planned to Walt Disney World Resort a couple of years ago.  At the time, I thought a trip that long would allow us to "do it all".  Walt Disney World is so vast, and there is so much to see and do, that I don't think I will ever be able to "do it all", even in a lifetime of visits!

Technically, the answer to your question is that the maximum number of days on theme park tickets is 10.  If you need more than 10 days of theme park admission, you would need to either purchase extra tickets for the additional days, or upgrade your tickets to Annual Passes.  However, I suggest that you carefully consider your itinerary before buying additional tickets to determine if you will actually need 12 days worth of admission.  Will you be visiting the theme parks on your arrival and departure days?  Depending on your travel schedule, you may not wish to use a day of admission if you only have a partial day to enjoy the parks.  Also, with a long trip such as you have planned, I highly recommend at least one day "off" from visiting the parks, when you might sleep in, have a leisurely meal at a Disney Resort Hotel, relax by the pool, or explore the many dining and shopping options at Disney Springs.  On my family's 12-day trip, we took two "rest days" and did not visit the parks on our travel days, so we purchased 8-day tickets.

There are also many recreation and entertainment options for your family to enjoy.  Bike or boat rentals, fishing, and horseback riding are just some of the recreational activities that are available.  How about a dinner show like Disney's Spirit of Aloha or Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, or perhaps the new Cirque du Soleil show?  None of these activities require theme park admission.

Another suggestion would be to add the Park Hopper Plus option to your tickets.  This would add 10 visits to Disney's Water Parks, Disney's Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Courses, Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course, and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, giving you lots of things to do on those additional two days.  Or consider Disney After Hours events, which offer additional admission after 7 pm that can be used on separate days than your 10-day ticket.

I hope that helps!  Please stop by the Moms Panel again with any additional questions you may have.  Enjoy your stay!
