Aloe-ha, Starlyn! Thanks for taking the
thyme to visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel! In all my yEARs of visiting Walt Disney World Resort, one of my favorite souven-EARs I've brought home was my Mickey's Mini Garden plant I got from the Land Pavillion in Epcot (did you know that each plant is cloned from an original plant behind the scenes in
Living with the Land?). I was able to keep my Kalanchoe plant thriving for two years when one chilly day last fall, I awoke to a frost-covered lawn, and I realized that I had forgotten my prized plant outside overnight. My friend was kind enough to get me a replacement plant during her next trip to the "World." I'm
rootin' for this little guy to survive my lack of a green thumb!
I called Guest Services, and unfortunately, they said the only way to purchase the plants is in person at
Epcot. However, my Moms Panel friend,
Amy, mentioned she has seen some small plants at the
BouTiki gift shop located in
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. If you are staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you could also ask the hotel's concierge desk if they have the ability to call Guest Relations at Epcot and have the plants sent to your resort. If all else fails, try doing a Google search for Mickey's Mini Garden and see what pops up. I found one website that while not sponsored by Disney, claims that the plants they are selling are purchased directly from Epcot as a living plant and are sold as is.
Enjoy your trip, Starlyn, and the next time you go to Epcot, sign up for the
Behind the Seeds walking tour. Be-
leaf me, your son will love it!
