On the Disney Cruise Ships will the counselors contact parents if the my kids want to be picked up?

    Ahoy Apryl!

Welcome back aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am excited to hEAR you will be sailing with Captain Mickey in just a few short weeks!  Double check your packing list and download your Disney Cruise Line App, you are going on a Disney cruise!

Your little buccaneers are going to have a blast in the youth clubs!  They may never want to leave.  My pirates-in-training often refuse to call it a night until they close down for the evening!  If your little sailors do want to spend some time exploring the rest of the ship with their parents, the youth counselors will contact you using the wave phones available in your stateroom, that can be used throughout the ship.

In my experience, the youth counselors in the Oceaneer Club, Oceaneer Lab and "it's a small world" nursery are very good about working with your child when they ask to leave to determine if they need something that the counselor could assist with, or if it is truly time to contact the parents.  If you are dining in one of the adult exclusive restaurants or have an appointment in Senses Spa and Salon, you can let the counselors know and they will work with you and your child in the event they want to leave during your reservation.  If you are traveling with a tween or teen, they do not need to be checked in or out of Edge and Vibe, so the youth counselors will not contact you if your child leaves these spaces.

Check back in with us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before your high seas adventure!
