Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for visiting
planDisney with your question! We are so glad that you are here.
My experience with international travel has taught me that we are always better off with the "Sure thing" when it comes to documentation. If I needed an
Authorization for Minor to Travel Without Legal Parent or Guardian, I would make sure to travel with the original, notarized document. If you are concerned you might misplace it, I would have two copies notarized and place them in different carry-on bags. I would also make a copy to leave with someone on land, but I am a double-then-triple-checker before we leave the country. Come to think of it, I do the same with photocopies of the information page of each of our
passports as well.
Since this form gives the adults on the journey the authority to handle everything from medical care to participating in activities, you don't want to take any chances here. It is just too important.
Jennifer, please don't forget that the form does need to be notarized. You can normally find a notary at a local bank, post office, packing and shipping store, or attorney's office. For a few dollars, they will gladly verify your identification, stamp, and sign your document. You will be sailing into the sunset in no time!
Before I go, have you seen the amazing, dedicated spaces for kiddos on a
Disney Cruise Line voyage? They are incredible! Our kids have loved their countless hours in
Disney's Oceaneer Lab,
Disney's Oceaneer Club, and
Edge. They can't wait to check out
Vibe on our next vacation. We can hardly pull them away! It sounds like some very lucky young people in your life are about to experience these spaces for themselves. I'm thrilled for them.
I hope this was helpful. Please let us know if you have any other questions, Jennifer.
Adventure is out there,
Sally
