We are going on a Disney cruise next week withmy 2 autistic 8yo twin grandsons. One of the twins is non verbal but he loves crafts and games. How would the staff in the kids’ club deal with him? We want to give him the experience but we are worried.

    Hi Chantel,

Welcome to planDisney! I'm glad you brought your Disney Cruise Line planning question to us. We want to help you feel prepared as much as possible.

Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of service options for Guests with Autism. I encourage you to review the Information for Guests with an Autism Spectrum Disorder guide for some helpful information. Since your cruise is next week, I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line Special Services direct number and speaking with a Special Services Cast Member before your cruise and discuss your questions.

Once onboard, I encourage you to visit Disney's Oceaneer Club during the Open House hours. At that time, you can visit with a Youth Activities Counselor and share with them ways they can accommodate your grandson. Plus, your grandsons will have an opportunity to explore the space themselves with you present. You can find Open House hours in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you arrive at the port or when you board the ship.

From family-centered entertainment and activities to simply enjoying complimentary soft-serve ice cream by the pool, there are many activities families can enjoy together, too! I'm hopeful that you and your grandsons will have lots of special moments onboard.

Wishing you many magical memories, Chantal!
