Welcome aboard, Mary! I'm your neighbor to the West, in Ohio, and the two of us just had quite the snow storm blow through, didn't we? With all this snow outside my window right now, dreaming of a February cruise with Disney sounds simply heavenly! Well, at this time next year, you'll be preparing for a warm and wonderful adventure at sea with Captain Mickey and his crew.
My family and I have sailed with Disney many times in the winter to the Bahamas and Caribbean and have enjoyed warm, summer like temperatures! What a great time to getaway! The average highs in the
Bahamas in February are in the upper 70's and low 80's, so you'll enjoy the beach and warm waters at
Castaway Cay and Nassau on your February cruise. That being said, I'm a cold water chicken. Seriously, it has to be super warm for me to get in. And guess what! I have snorkeled and played in the water at Castaway Cay with my kids each time we've sailed in the winter. Sure, it's warmer in the summer, but if I can get in, so can you! Did you know that even onboard the ship, when the temperature drops below 75 degrees, the
pools are heated? The pools are always the perfect temperature onboard, Mary. Plus, there are always the hot tubs to retreat to if you want really warm water!
So, pack your summer attire, but don't forget a sweatshirt, sweater, or jacket for those cooler and breezier evenings on deck while at sea. I also tend to get chilly inside the ship in the theaters and restaurants, so I always have an extra layer with me just in case.
Have so much fun planning over this next year, Mary, and please stop back again with any other questions as you continue to count down to the big sail date! We're happy to help!
