The Disney Cruise line suggests a tip of $12/person/per day. That seems exorbitant. I realize all your wait staff does for you and you tip what you want, depending on that service. I have read where you can tip at the end. Should this be cash?

    Welcome aboard, Judith!

It sounds like you're about to set sail on your very first cruise with Captain Mickey and his crew. From lots of experience sailing with my favorite mouse, I know for sure that your whole family is in for magical experiences from sun up until way past sun down every day!

Part of the magic comes with the amazing service my family and I receive when we sail with Disney. Our stateroom hosts have always gone above and beyond to make our staterooms just to our liking. Even when we don't ask! On one cruise, our stateroom host and my daughter became fast friends, and one night, she surprised my daughter with special princess sheets. I didn't even know they had those, and I've never seen them again! Talk about an extra sprinkling of pixie dust!

At dinner, your dining servers will wow you with their service. Did you know that with Disney's Rotational Dining, your dining servers will be rotating through the restaurants with you each night, so they get to know you and your preferences and you get to know them? They become like family to us and there certainly have been a few tearful goodbyes with a few of our favorites.

Guests traditionally tip their stateroom host, head server, dining server, and assistant dining server. On the last night of your sailing, you'll get tip envelopes delivered to your stateroom with each of their names. You can let the tips be automatically charged to your stateroom according to Disney Cruise Line's traditional gratuity amounts, or you could pre-pay before you sail, or visit the Guest Services desk to adjust the tip to a different amount. It's up to you. We always let them charge the traditional amount and then we add a little extra for our favorites in cash.

    Have an amazing cruise, Judith!
