We are going on a Disney cruise with a child with autism. Our room is on the second floor in the back of the ship. Are the engines loud down there, my child has noise sensitivity ?

    Ahoy, Beth!

Thank you for reaching out with your question about your upcoming cruise. April is a lovely time to sail to The Bahamas, so you have a lot to look forward to this spring when you board the Disney Dream! A highlight of your cruise to The Bahamas will be your visit to Disney Castaway Cay. This will be a fun day to soak in the sun and spend time enjoying all the island has to offer. If it is your first visit, don't miss out on meeting with your favorite Disney Friends in their adorable beach attire and enjoying a delicious lunch at Cookies BBQ!

Beth, my family has stayed in a variety of staterooms on every deck in the forward, midship, and aft. Having experienced accommodations in so many different locations, we have found noise to not be an issue with any of them, including our stateroom on Deck 2. If we did hear something, it was faint and not long-lasting. Usually, I am a light sleeper and always sleep soundly on Disney ships because of the quietness, gentle rocking of the vessel, and the extremely comfortable beds! It is one of the things I look forward to the most when we sail, and my hope is your crew will experience the same.

It was great to hear from you, Beth. We hope you'll let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. We are always happy to help!
