Welcome aboard, Allen! You can absolutely use Disney Gift Cards or the rewards card from
Chase's Disney Visa to pay for your Disney Cruise Line vacation. In fact, my family and I do that each time we sail!
Our local grocery store offers discounts on gasoline fill-ups when we buy gift cards at the store, and since they sell
Disney Gift Cards there, I purchase a few each time I shop and save them for our cruise. I figure, we need to put gas in the car, so we might as well get a discount on it and pay off our cruise at the same time! Perhaps your local grocery store offers fuel rewards for gift card purchases too!
Just give the agents at Disney Cruise Line a call at (800) 951-3532 to make payments from your Gift Cards or Disney Visa Reward Card. You may want to pick up a few extra Disney Gift Cards once your cruise is paid off too, as they can be used in the gift shops onboard, and also to add as a credit to your stateroom account. I stop by Guest Services on my first day onboard each time, to give them our Disney Gift Cards. They add those as credits, so we start our cruise with a credit on the stateroom account. Then, anything we spend by swiping our Key To The World Card onboard, gets charged to our stateroom and comes off the credit. A couple of times we've come to the end of the sailing and still had credit so Guest Services just put the remaining credit back onto our Disney Gift Card (so hold onto it until the end of the cruise just in case!)
I hope those details help as you get ready to plan your magical adventure at sea, Allen! Stop back if we can help with any other questions as you continue to plan your cruise!
