Welcome Whitney,
I just love your question! Now I am imagining the most perfect combination of Resort hotels for an upcoming split-stay. You will experience the beauty and ambience of the Grand Lobby at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the convenience of the iconic Disney Monorail to
Magic Kingdom Park. Then, enjoy the bustle of
Disney's BoardWalk and (my favorite) stroll to both
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios from
Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. This sounds practically perfect in every way! You must be so excited.
I'm happy to share with you that the transition should be simple! Just let the friendly
Bell Services Cast Members at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa know that you would appreciate your bags having a journey of their own with a ride over to your second destination. They will gladly bring them for you, and your luggage will be waiting at Bell Services of the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. While this service is complimentary, I do like to tip generously. I am so grateful for the people making the magic of this switcheroo happen in the background.
Whitney, please keep in mind that your luggage might be on vacation for several hours. Be sure to keep anything with you that would be time-sensitive, like medications. Also, a good sense of humor is a must-bring whenever you are away from your things for a while, especially with little ones!
Tip: a luggage transfer day is an excellent time to take advantage of my favorite packing tip. Bring a few Gallon-sized Ziplock bags. Stash a super-packable (read: maybe dry-fit style) spare outfit for any kiddos in your group, and possibly a messy husband. Squeeze out all of the air from the bag and zip 'er up. Keep those stashable spares in a backpack for the day, just in case! In my experience, if there is going to be a major spill on a vacation, it will likely happen on the day when your bags are galavanting around
Walt Disney World Resort. Like Scar says, "Be Prepared!"
I hope that helps you plan for split-stay day. Come on back and let us know if you have any other questions. Have the best vacation ever, Whitney!
Adventure is out there,
Sally
