I have a Disney Chase credit card where I earn reward dollars. I am looking to rack up rewards dollars towards our Cruise Package and/or airline tickets by using this credit card. Is this possible? Has anyone done this? Any tips/tricks?

    Ahoy Michaela!

Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am thrilled to hEAR you are planning a future adventure with Captain Mickey!

I use my Disney Premier Visa Rewards card all of the time to earn reward dollars for our cruises.  First and foremost, I pay for all of our Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line vacations with this card.  Not only do they offer promotional no fee financing for six months, but you also earn reward dollars at a faster rate for these purchases.  I also use this card to pay for our family's gas and groceries and then immediately pay the balance.  This gives me the chance to talk Disney with the cashier as I hand them my Tinkerbell card, but also to earn more reward dollars!

If you choose to pay for airfare with this card, you must first pay for the airfare using your Disney Visa and then submit a request for a statement credit using your reward dollars.  This has been an easy process in my experience.

I have also paid for everything from theme park tickets to my onboard stateroom balance on the Disney Cruise Line ships using reward dollars.  Once you earn reward dollars from your purchases, you simply load them on to a Disney rewards redemption card which is similar to a gift card.

Simply contact Disney Cruise Line by phone to apply any reward dollars from your rewards redemption card to your cruise balance or as prepayment to your onboard account.  What I have done in the past is pay for the majority of my cruise balance using the Disney Visa card and then once my reward dollars become available, I use that to pay off a portion of the balance before my cruise "paid in full" date.
