Hi- been to Disney a bunch. Looking to come with 1 teenager in February before the Princess race. We heard boardwalk is a fun location that offers a way to walk to Epcot. Is this a good option? Is it too loud with entertainment around? Thank you!

    Hi Sharon,

Thanks for dropping by planDisney with your question! I'm happy to help a fellow Georgia girl and always ready to support a mom and teenager's adventure.

Sharon, you heard right! Disney's BoardWalk is a great place to be. I've stayed at all three Disney Resorts Collection hotels surrounding the BoardWalk and have some thoughts to share.

Disney's Beach Club Resort is the closest to EPCOT's International Gateway, which makes it super convenient. Disney's Yacht Club Resort is literally just next door, so another great option if access to EPCOT is important to you. In addition to Disney Bus Transportation, you can hop on the Disney Skyliner or a FriendShip Boat for transportation to Disney's Hollywood Studios.  These two resorts share many amenities including one of the most exciting resort pools on Walt Disney World property, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool, as well as delicious dining locations.

And let's not forget Disney's BoardWalk Inn, located on the opposite side of the Crescent Lake and right on the BoardWalk giving you easy access to dining and entertainment. BoardWalk Inn is a quick walk to EPCOT and is less than a 20-minute walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios or you can choose from various Disney Transportation options instead.

While you may hear fireworks from EPCOT and some BoardWalk noise, I've not heard enough to disturb my sleep. If you are a light sleeper, I suggest booking a Resort View Room and requesting a room on a higher floor.

Finally, each of the resorts features "split" bathrooms, so the toilet and tub/shower are separate from the sinks and vanity area. I find this is helpful for groups of any size and will afford you and your teen some privacy when needed.

Whew! Clearly, I'm a fan of the EPCOT-area resorts, Sharon! I hope this helps you make your decision. Whatever you choose, you are going to have a fabulous time. Feel free to write back if you have other questions as you plan your trip.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
