Going to Disney in August with my husband, son who is 141/2 and daughter who is 11. We are staying at the Carribean Beach Resort. Can anyone give me feedback on this hotel. Heard that it is very big and requires alot of walking.

    Hi Lorraine,

Caribbean Beach Resort is the largest moderate resort. While it is large, it does have a wonderful Caribbean charm and lots of extra activities not found at other moderate resorts.

The main pool is fun and the renovated food area makes eating easier there these days then when I stayed at this resort for my honeymoon 16 years ago in October. There are so many things to do you may not want to leave!

When I visited the resort in December 2008, I got to view the new Pirate rooms which were inspired by the ride and movie, Pirates of the Caribbean. They are a fun, and all rooms also offer mini-fridges and a privacy curtain which will help getting ready in the morning easier.

If you were a family with younger children, I might be more concerned about the walking. You can call the front desk ten days prior to check in and ask to be placed in one of the villages (this resort uses the names of  different Caribbean locations to distinguish areas) closer to the food and main pool. There are also many buses depots throughout the resort so you will always be close to transportation.

I hope you enjoy your Caribbean destination!
