Going to Disney April 14th!! with a sister that LOVES Roller Coasters. I am not to fond of Hills or drops. Ive done RockNRollerCoaster it wasn't my favorite. Im wondering if space mountain or Big Thunder have big hills or do you think I could handle them?

Hi Jennifer! Maybe you should be my sister, because I hate drops on roller coasters too! I even avoid riding Pirates of the Caribbean because of that downhill plunge at the beginning. Even though I'm a ride chicken, I love Big Thunder Mountain! This train coaster has lots of twists and turns, a few little dips, but no big drops! You can definitely handle Big Thunder Mountain!

Space Mountain is a little more intense than Big Thunder Mountain. It does have some drops, but they are nowhere near the size of the drops you experienced on Rock-n-Roller Coaster. I've seen Space Mountain with the lights on a few times, and it is actually a fairly tame roller coaster with no major plunges. However, the fact that the ride takes place in darkness makes it scary; it's hard to anticipate the drops or see how big they are. There are drops, but they're not terribly big. If you like Big Thunder Mountain and think you could handle a coaster that's one step up in intensity, you should try Space Mountain.

You didn't ask about Splash Mountain. It's a flume ride, not a coaster, but it has a five-story plunge. I recommend you run hide in the bathroom while your sister rides this one!

When I'm trying to decide if I want to brave a particular attraction, I like to watch videos of the ride on a site like YouTube.com. (You can even see videos of Space Mountain with the lights on, which will give you a good idea of the size of the drops.)

Hope you have a magical time at Disney World next month! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We'd love to  help!
