Does Disney have anything special planned for the july 4th holiday?

    Hello Robert!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Walt Disney was known to be quite patriotic, so it’s no surprise that this holiday is a special one at the Walt Disney World Resort. What better way to celebrate the Four of July than with a fireworks spectacular? Disney’s Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky takes place at the Magic Kingdom on both July 3 and July 4, 2015.  This is quite a popular show, so I recommend finding your ideal viewing location at least an hour prior. Please check the Times Guide on arrival for the official time, but I would expect it would begin around 9 p.m.

If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, you may be interested in the special Disney Vacation Club Member Event on Friday, July 3, 2015. This ticketed event is for Members and their Guests and will take place at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Featuring special music, games and treats, this exciting event concludes with a special viewing location for the holiday fireworks over the Magic Kingdom. To book this special event, please contact Disney Vacation Club Member Services.

While I have not seen an official announcement of all festivities, I would also expect to see a special fireworks show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 4. If you want to experience that patriotic feeling before the evening’s festivities, you may enjoy visiting The Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom, or The American Adventure in Epcot. Both of these attractions offer a moving tribute to the American spirit. I may or may not be known to get a little misty at these attractions. I would keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as the holiday weekend approaches for any announcements of additional special events.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation, Robert. Let us know how else we can help you with your planning!

    Have a Disney Day!
