How does disembarking work at port excursions? About how long does it take to get off the ship at a port?

Welcome aboard, Margaret! I think you'll find disembarking Disney Cruise Line at each of the ports to be quick and easy. Once your ship arrives at the port, you will hear an announcement when you are clear to disembark. If you don't have a specific Port Adventure booked, simply take your i.d. and Key To The World card with you to the deck where you'll disembark. You will be instructed which deck and which part of the ship to use to exit. There will be Cast Members at the exit to scan your Key To The World cards and then you're free to explore the port!

If the port you're in requires tendering, the process will be similar, however you'll need to board a small boat to take you to from the ship to the port docks. It won't take too long, maybe 10 minutes, and the ride is usually very scenic. My kids think tendering is an adventure on its own.

If you have a Port Adventure booked, you'll receive a ticket in your stateroom for that Adventure, and it will list your meeting place. Sometime the meeting spots are onboard, other times they are off the ship right in the port area. Again, you'll need your Key to The World Card and i.d. every time you leave and re-enter the ship, so keep that with you at all times.

I hope this information helps you plan, Margaret. Please stop back here with any other questions you might have before you set sail. I'm happy to help!
