Hey Howdy Hey, Lisa! I’m glad you thought to holler at planDisney with your question. I’m here to help with everything you need for an orderly transition from sea to land.
Saying goodbye to your Disney Cruise pals is like having a snake in your boot. If you have to ride like the wind to get back to the airport, Express Walk-Off is definitely the best option for your crew. Rest assured, the shuttles will be ready to pick you up after debarkation and a Disney Cruise Line representative will be available outside the port terminal to direct you to your designated transportation. Disney Cruise Line also recommends you
schedule your outgoing flights no earlier than 11:15 AM.
I do want to make you aware of one other insight that could influence your travel time. I recently chose the Express Walk-Off option as well after my Very Merrytime Cruise aboard the
Disney Wish to ensure I made my flight back to Nashville with plenty of time to spare. I was lucky enough to snag the last seat on a shuttle, so I didn’t have to wait long until we were on our way back to the airport. However, another friend on the same cruise was one of the first to board her shuttle and she had to wait about forty minutes for the bus to fill up before leaving Port Canaveral. Either way, I find it's the perfect time to relive my cruise memories by reviewing all the fun photos I took!
Remember, the port is about 45 miles away from Orlando International Airport (MCO). That means that you’re looking at a process that could take several hours from the time you leave your stateroom until you step foot into the airport, so I suggest allotting extra time for an early “toy-riffic” meal. My fellow planDisney pal, Susan, offered some great tips for
grabbing breakfast before getting off the ship.
Planning your departure may seem like a lot to think about before even beginning your journey, but don’t fret! You’ve got a friend in me and if you have any more questions, you can circle back to us here at
planDisney!
To infinity and beyond,
Sami
