Welcome back to planDisney, Amanda! You’ve asked some great questions in the past and I’m honored to be a part of planning your next adventure aboard Disney Cruise Line.
Believe me when I say I share your excitement for cruising on the new
Disney Destiny. I’m already gathering all my fellow Muses to sing along with me as Disney Hercules prepares to take the stage.
As an experienced voyager, you likely already know that as of today, the Disney Destiny is accepting
bookings through May 2026. Typically, bookings begin anywhere from 13-18 months before a sailing. With that in mind, I would expect to see that window open up in the next few months. Definitely keep your eyes on Disney Cruise Line’s social media accounts for the latest itinerary announcements as well.
I even
chatted with a Disney Cruise Line Representative to see if I could uncover some treasure for you, but alas, there are no official dates yet. (We might have more luck discovering plundered treasure at the Cask and Cannon Pub once on board!). Keep in mind that Castaway Club members also get to book certain itineraries ahead of the general public too.
Speaking of sailing away,
Fort Lauderdale is one of my favorite ports. I lived just north of there for almost a decade, so I love returning to experience the atmosphere and one-of-a-kind food. A few can’t-miss ideas include:
- Walking along Las Olas Boulevard and stopping to sip on something at an outdoor café
- Hopping on a free water taxi to explore the Historic New River
- Cruising down the Riverwalk to take a tour of Billionaire’s Row
- Grabbing a craft burger and milkshake from BRGR STOP
- Eating mussels at my absolute favorite seafood spot right on the water, 15th Street Fisheries
I hope I’ve given you plenty to dream about while you await your calling onto the Disney Destiny. If you have any other questions in the meantime, you know you can always visit us again here at planDisney!
Happy sailing!
