Dear Allen,
Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
Walt Disney World Resort does have a
planning center for group getaways and large families, but that starts with reservations of 10 rooms or more. It doesn't sound like that would apply to your group.
Since your family is a smaller group, you wouldn't be able to take advantage of those group rates but you would have a number of options that would potentially save you money. For example, families of 6 can book a hotel suite at one of
several resorts such as
Disney's Art of Animation Resort, or a cabin at
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort that will
sleep 6 people. In your case, that would be two suites or two cabins. Additionally, there are
larger sleeping arrangements such as Deluxe Villa Resort Hotels that will sleep up to 8 or 9 people.
When you are in the Parks, you can save money in many ways. For example, did you know that a cup of water can be acquired for free simply by asking a Cast Member at any one of the Quick-Service restaurants around the four parks? Our family finds that many of the Quick-Service meals can be split between two people, so that's a way that we save. Additionally, set a souvenir limit with your kids at the start of the trip - that always serves us well!
Hope that helps!
