Since there is a discount on Hotel Stays for Annual Pass holders, what happens for a DVC member with annual pass? Less points for rooms?

    Welcome Home Susanna,

And Welcome Back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You asked such a great question. As a fellow Disney Vacation Club member and Annual Passholder, I love to take advantage of the exclusive offers and benefits that come along with membership. I also LOVE a bargain, so anywhere that I can find one, I will look!

As you mentioned, throughout the year, Annual Passholders receive exclusive discounts on select stays at Disney Resort Hotels. We also receive special discounts and exclusive benefits on food, merchandise, special events, and more. Mostly it is your “key to the Kingdom,” that unlocks an adventure-filled year!

Unfortunately, the same discounts do not apply to the points system for Disney Vacation Club. One of the great things about the Vacation Points system is the variety of vacation choice from year to year. A studio in the middle of January is going to be fewer points than a one bedroom villa during Christmas week. In this way, Vacation Points almost act as a built-in discount - you can choose how you want to allocate your points, and you can save or splurge at will!

You might enjoy browsing the Explore Membership section on the Disney Vacation Club website. There you can plug in your trip choice and automatically see how your points will be used. I can spend hours on there calculating fanciful vacations!

If you have any other questions, we would love you to swing back on by. I hope to see ya real soon!
