Hello, Alexis!
I may not be a heck of a paleontologist, but I do consider myself well-versed in the history and happenings of Walt Disney World Resort. Whether you're interested in discovering some fun facts, looking to dig up some intel about your favorite dining venue, or need help mapping your route between the parks, my fellow planDisney panelists and I have got you covered.
Like all good scientists, we rely on tools to help us chisel our way to the facts. Sometimes we can simply brush off the latest
Disney Parks Blog article to share, but other times we need a major excavation to get to the bottom of things. My research on the reimagining of DinoLand U.S.A., which was first announced during Destination D23 last year, forced me to call in an additional team of experts. I reached out to a Cast Member to inquire about an official closing date, but unfortunately, it seems this is proprietary information.
At this time
DINOSAUR appears available through July 14, 2024, the furthest date we can view on the current
Hours & Events Calendar. We'll continue to see this calendar update as the year moves forward, but I can't say exactly when we can expect to see DINOSAUR availability end. I know so many guests love this attraction and might feel like a "Tyrannosaurus wreck" when it eventually closes, but I trust that the Imagineers will bring us plenty of new excitement likely without the threat of an asteroid impact.
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is set for this August so I'm hoping we'll learn a bit more about the plans then. I expect the reimagining to be pretty dino-mite, even if our DINOSAUR friends end up extinct.
Alexis, I'm hopeful you'll be able to board the Time Rover at least once more time during your visit this fall. You might worry that you're "not gonna make it" but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that an Iguanodon returns from the Cretaceous Period on your journey. In the meantime, make some evasive maneuvers and keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and the official social media channels for more updates. You're also welcome to come back and see us again with any additional questions.
Now, let’s go get that dino,
Amy
