My Dinning Reservations open up soon and I will be booking for 4 adults and one child, aged 2. Do I book 5 spaces or just 4?

    Anna,

Thank you so much for your question!

As you may know, children under 3 do not have to pay for certain meals, like at buffets. Disney encourages you to let them eat 'off your plate' at no charge. This was a great money saver for my family when our girls were younger. They ate so little at that age that it would have been a waste to pay for a full meal for them.  But you do want to make sure to count them in your overall headcount of guests when making a dining reservation. They won't be charged for dining, but this way Disney can secure for you a table that is big enough for your party.

Please also note that this rule applies, whether you are using a Disney Dining Plan, or paying in another fashion.

Having that little one with you can make for a more enjoyable time, as the Cast Members all seem so well attuned to making it fun for kids. Destinations like the 50's Prime Time Cafe, and the Whispering Canyon Cafe come to mind as venues that entertain and provide a great meal, all at the same time.

Now what is more important is where are you eating, and do you need recommendations? Those are the most fun questions to answer on the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Have a Magical (and delicious) Vacation!
