Hi Cynthia,
Welcome to planDisney! Fall is the perfect time to enjoy Disney World because the decorations and events set the mood for a not-so-spooky Halloween season. I love the atmosphere during this time of year with fabulous photo opportunities throughout the theme parks and decadent food options.
There is nothing better than ending a theme park day with a dinner reservation, so I like where your plan is at so far. Unfortunately, on the day you mentioned Magic Kingdom will close to day guests at 6 PM. Guests attending
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will begin arriving at 4 PM that day and the party is in full swing at 7 PM. If you are not staying for the party, cast members will funnel you towards the exits at 6 PM. If you have a reservation before 6 PM, they will allow you to finish eating and exit the theme park after your dining experience is over.
I recommend changing your dinner reservation to one of the excellent options at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort,
Contemporary Resort, or
Grand Floridian Resort. Each of these Resort hotels is just a quick monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom. My favorite option is
California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The food is amazing with a variety of options for your entire party and as a dinner guest here you can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from their balcony. Even if your dinner finishes before the fireworks start, you can keep your receipt and return to watch the show. If you are looking for something a little more kid-friendly, head over to
'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort. The Polynesian-themed food here is served family-style and the atmosphere is lively. You can also walk out to the beach and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks after you finish dinner or do a little shopping.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
