Hi Janice! The answer to this question depends a lot on the time of year you're visiting Disney World and how picky you are about when and where you dine. If your trip is during a busy time of year, such as the summer, spring break, or holidays, or if you're visiting during a period where the Dining Plan is offered for free, you may find it difficult to get a table at many restaurants. Even during off-peak times of year, you may find that the popular restaurants have no availability at regular meal times. If you're willing to dine at less popular times such as mid-afternoon or late evening, or if you're flexible about where to eat, you'll be more likely to find a table.
If there are particular restaurants that you know you'd like to try on your trip, I recommend that you make reservations at those so you won't be disappointed. Even though you don't want your vacation to feel over-scheduled, I've found that I have the most relaxing Disney vacations when I make my dining
plans in advance so I won't end up hungry and tired and unable to find a
restaurant with availability. I recommend that you make one dining reservation for each day so that you'll have it if you need it. You can always cancel them, even at the last minute, if you end up choosing to do something else.
