Have dinner reservations at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey on the same night. Which is better for a 5 year old boy!!! Will be there Sept. 16

You've made great selections for your son. I have to tell you that truly, truly these are both perfect dining experiences for a five year old boy. The buffet food is quite similar, so that should not be a factor in your decision. I would base my choice on two things: your son's character preference and your physical location.

The characters at the Crystal Palace are Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet. The characters at Chef Mickey's are Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. If you son prefers one group over the other, then that should inform your decision. Also, if you are in the Magic Kingdom and don't want to leave the park, you should choose Crystal Palace. If you're not in the Magic Kingdom that day and don't have a park hopper, you should choose Chef Mickey's because you would not need to use a park admission ticket to enjoy the meal.

I suppose if you totally twisted my arm and made me choose, I'd go with Chef Mickey's because the classic characters there really do put you in the Disney spirit, but rest assured that either choice is wonderful. You can't go wrong with either restaurant.
