We have dinner reservations at Askershus at 8:00 pm. We plan to watch Illuminations as soon as we finish and wanted to know the best place to do so in proximity to the restaurant. Are their any options for seeing it from the restaurant?

    Cathy,

No, you really can't see IllumiNations from the restaurant, unfortunately.

Once you are done with dinner, you really just have to find a spot as close to the water as possible. With an 8 pm dining time, it is likely that the railing along the water way will already be full. But as you will find, the show has so many elements that you will still see a great deal of what is going on.

I have found in the past that if you move over towards the side of the Norway pavilion that runs up against the Mexico pavilion, you might find lighter crowds. There is just more empty space over there than if you go towards China. Another choice is to sit along the rocky ledge that is next to the restaurant. That can get you a bit higher to see more of the show.

Also, if it is a particularly light night, you will find benches directly out from the Norway pavilion under some of the lakeside trees. But know that if you sit there you will eventually have someone standing in front of you at the railing.

    Have a magical vacation!
