Hiya, Regan! Welcome to planDisney! Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is right around the corner, and you must be thrilled! My family recently used the
Disney Dining Plan and we had a great experience. Going into our vacation, I was a little unsure about how we'd navigate some of the updates to the dining plan, but it turned out to be a pretty seamless experience that I'd absolutely do again.
You can find a list of restaurants that accept dining plans on the
Walt Disney World Resort website. You can filter this list by Quick Service and Table Service. When you click on the restaurant name, you'll be able to read all about that restaurant and see how you can use your dining plan there. For a table service restaurant, click on the blue link that says "View Dining Plans and Discounts." For
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, for example, you'll see a a helpful chart that shows that at breakfast, you'll use one table-service meal per person, and at lunch and dinner, you'll use two table service meals per person. For a quick service location like
Backlot Express, I find that it's easiest to place a
Mobile Food and Beverage Order to help me stay organized. When you place your order, you'll scroll to the Entrees section and make a selection. Then, you'll need to select a beverage. Don't worry, if you forget to select a beverage before checking out, the
My Disney Experience App will prompt you to add one to complete your order so you can use your dining plan meal. When you're ready for a snack, keep an eye out for the little purple DDP logo that indicates items that are eligible for snacks. When placing a mobile order at a place like
Sleepy Hollow, you'll see these items listed under the Snack category, so go ahead and grab a Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich - my favorite!
Regan, please remember these helpful tips as you prepare:
- Book an Advance Dining Reservation for Table-Service Restaurants
- Gratuity is not included for Table-Service meals
- You can always check on your dining plan within the My Disney Experience App within the Resort Hotel section - you can see your order history and remaining meals and snacks
- Always ask your server if you have any questions! Some restaurants do have items that are not included in the dining plan, and they'll be happy to share those exceptions with you.
I hope you have the best time on your upcoming vacation! Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you prepare!
See you real soon!
Jennifer
