Welcome to planDisney, Erin. I am so happy you stopped by.
Erin, I completely understand your predicament. My oldest son has a dairy allergy and generally I choose where to dine based on where he can get some of his dairy-free favorites, like plant-based grilled cheese and ice cream.
Park hours are subject to change, and unfortunately, sometimes these changes take a little bit of time to be processed across various systems, such as
advanced dining reservations. I do know that when hours have been modified in the past, dining reservations after park close were automatically canceled. For this reason, I would recommend that you go ahead and modify your existing reservations to a time when the parks are open.
If you prefer a later dinner when the parks close early, I would highly recommend that you snag an advanced dining reservation at a restaurant inside of a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. This is a fun way to get to experience a new resort and enjoy a stroll along the grounds before heading into dinner.
If you are having a little trouble getting a reservation for a location you want, or for a specific time, I would encourage you to keep checking. I often score my advanced dining reservations the week of my vacation, or sometimes even the night before!
Erin, while I am sure you have taken the time to vet some fabulous vegan options for your sit down meals, did you know that you can also easily order a vegan meal at a quick-service location with
Mobile Order? Once you select a restaurant, simply scroll down the page and look for allergy menus. Anything with a green leaf icon will be a plant-based meal, and you may be able to modify sides to create even more vegan options. While you and your friends are vacationing, you must try my favorite vegan offering, a Dole Whip from
Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom.
I hope that this helped, Erin. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help as you plan your fabulous vegan vacation.
See you real soon!
