Hi there, Jessica! Thank you for coming to planDisney with a question about my favorite topic – Disney dining! I love to talk Disney food, from snacks to adult beverages to fine dining, I can’t get enough!
Currently, guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort can begin booking their dining reservations 60 days before their check-in day. Seeing that you are arriving in May, you should be able to begin making your reservations in March.
Now, let’s talk FOOD! I would love to give you some of my favorites…
Snacks – I love me a good snack, after all, Disney calories don’t count, right? At Magic Kingdom, I must plan well because my favorite snack is the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich at
Sleepy Hollow. This delightful treat is only served until 11:00 AM, so I need to mobile order it early. At EPCOT, there are always SO many choices, especially if there is a festival going on. One of the staples is the School Bread in Norway. It might sound a little strange, but it is delicious! When visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I have a hard time choosing between a sweet or savory snack. I love the “Totchos” at
Woody’s Lunch Box or the Red Velvet Cookie sandwich at the ABC Commissary. Finally, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I always head to Creature Comforts for my favorite Starbuck’s Drink and a specialty treat.
Quick Service – Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World has been a game-changer. I can plan to eat something in a few hours but order it when I think of it (which is usually when I am in line for an attraction). A few of my favorite quick service restaurants are
Primo Piatto at Disney’s Riviera Resort for a Croque Monsieur with tomato soup, Satu’li Canteen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park for a protein bowl (the beef never disappoints), and Yorkshire County Fish Shop in England in EPCOT for fish and chips.
Full-Service Dining – My favorite dinner spot in all of Walt Disney World is
Narcoosee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The food is delicious, plus you get a view of Cinderella Castle all lit up at night across the water. I love the variety of food available at
Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge at breakfast. This is hands-down the BEST breakfast buffet at WDW. Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort serves a delicious steak, Olivia’s Café at Disney’s Old Key West Resort wonderful any time of the day, my favorite is Captain Wahoo’s Catch of the Day and the Olivia’s Breakfast. If you are looking for some fun AND great food, Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is so good. I love the breakfast skillets, and the Buffalo Burger at lunch was to die for!
I hope this helps with your vacation planning (and doesn’t make your food choices TOO difficult!). Please come back to planDisney with other questions you might have as you continue to plan.
Happy Traveling (& eating),
Tracy
