In my experience, all members of your dining party typically need to be present at the host stand before you can be seated for your
advanced dining reservation. Cast Members usually won't seat a partial party because they want to ensure the full table is ready before service begins. That said, it never hurts to politely ask when you arrive – Cast Members do their best to accommodate when they can, especially if the missing Guests are just minutes away and nearby. However, to avoid any issues or delays, I'd recommend trying to time your ride and dining reservations with a little buffer just to be safe.
Another option would be to try adjusting the time of your
Lightning Lane selection or dining reservation. Both of these can easily be modified directly through your
My Disney Experience app, making it a convenient way to better align your plans and avoid any overlap.
To modify a Lightning Lane selection:
- Open your My Disney Experience app.
- Tap the ☰ (menu icon) in the bottom right corner.
- Select "Today's Plans" and choose either "My Day" or "Tip Board."
- Find the Lightning Lane Reservation you'd like to change.
- Tap on it, then select "Modify."
- You'll see available times for the same attraction or be able to choose a different attraction (based on availability).
- Select your new time or attraction, and confirm the change.
To modify a dining reservation:
- Open your My Disney Experience app.
- Tap the ☰ menu, then select "My Plans."
- Scroll to find your dining reservation.
- Tap on the reservation, then choose "Modify Reservation."
- There you will be able to adjust the time or party size.
- Follow the prompts to confirm your changes.
