Hello, Kristie! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with another great question! You've come to the right place.
For my family, dining at Walt Disney World is a big deal, and I always get excited when we approach that magical 60-day mark for making
Advance Dining Reservations (or "ADRs" for short). If you need to cancel your dining reservation or modify the number of people, you can do so through your My Disney Experience account, as long as your reservation is not within 24 hours. However, if you are the lead guest, meaning the person who booked the ADRs through your account, you won't be able to remove yourself.
When the party checks in at the dining location, they can give your name, or you can check in online for them through your
My Disney Experience app; you do not need to be there.
Disney does charge a per-person fee for reservations canceled after the designated period or for no-shows. But in my experience, if your party size is only reduced by one guest, you most likely will not be charged (this policy may vary depending upon the dining location).
Be sure to save some room for some dreadfully delicious fall treats during your trip, Kristie! I can't wait to try the Binx Pastry Tail and Cold Witches Brew Coffee from Magic Kingdom Park's
Cheshire Cafe. I also recommend stopping by the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Nearly one-third of the menu offerings are new this year, including gourmet french fries presented with unique savory and sweet toppings!
Have a magical vacation, Kristie!
