I have the dining plan for our 7d / 6n trip. We leave in 6 days. No dinner reservations have been made, we wanted to play it all by ear. Will we have a problem locating restaraunts for our sit down dinning?

Well Cory, I'm afraid the answer is probably yes.  It is likely to be difficult to get reservations at most restaurants, especially if you wait until the same day you want to eat.  The Disney Dining Plan is a wonderful thing and it's served our family very well, but it really does require advance planning.

I strongly suggest you call Disney Dining (407-WDW-DINE) and try to make some advance reservations.  If you don't have meals planned out before you get there, I'm afraid you will waste much of your park time trying to figure out where you can eat.  And since restaurants in the parks fill up faster than the ones in the resorts, you may also find yourself doing a lot of traveling back and forth between parks and resorts so that you can use your dining credits.  You may also find yourself in the unfortunate position of having credits go to waste.

The dining plan must be reserved or canceled 48 hours in advance, so it would be best to find out now what your schedule would be.  If the table service reservations are too hard to come by you may still have time to cancel the dining plan and pay cash for the counter service meals you'll be eating instead.  I'd hate to see you lose that money!

I hope it works out well for you!
