Is the dining plan really worth it? I've been trying to figure out if it would be more cost effective or not. We have always loved sit down meals but can get by with something quick too. Just not sure which to do for us and out 11yr old daughter

Hi Karolyn!  The Disney Dining Plan can be a wonderful experience for you and your family.  Because there are different plan options, you are offered a bit of variety.  With the Quick Service dining plan, you are afforded two (2) Quick Service meals and one (1) snack per day.  Being that there are so many Quick Service options throughout the parks and the resorts, you are assured a variety of meals available to you.  The cost of the Quick Service plan is $34.99 per adult per day.  (Your daughter will count as an adult).  The Basic Dining plan affords you one (1) Table service meal, one (1) Quick service meal, and one (1) snack per day.  The cost of the Basic Dining plan is $53.54 per adult per day.  Granted, it ultimately comes down to how your family dines.  If you are comfortable with fast quick meals, then the QS plan might be the right one for you.  If you will be wanting to enjoy a sit down dining  experience, then perhaps the basic plan might be for you.  We have used the basic plan, and have used all of our credits and enjoyed wonderful meals around the World.  There are families who have saved using the plan, and some who have spent more while using the plan.  A way that I use to figure out if it was feasible for my family, was to look at the menu's and calculate what our end bill would be, and if I would be saving by "pre-paying" for my meals.

My suggestion to you is to check out the menu's on the Dining page of the Walt Disney World website, or on the website WDWinfo.com, and see what's offered.

I hope this helps you make your decision and enjoy your dining experience!
