Is the dining plan really worth it? We are a family of four. Last time we ordered food from a grocery and had breakfast in our room which worked really well and easier than eating out. What do you feel about the quick service plan vs. the regular dining?

Hi, Guy!  The dining plan is really a matter of personal choice, and for my family, it has always been a great way to keep a handle on our vacation food budget.

Since my gastric bypass surgery, we almost never do the dining plan.  It turns out to be way too much food for me to eat, and as my middle daughter got older, she shied away from the children's meals, even though she was still the age meant to enjoy them.  I would say the best way to determine if the dining plans are worth doing is to determine if you are generally big eaters while on vacation, if it would be of any benefit to have your food budget taken care of ahead of time, and if you think it would allow you to enjoy restaurants you might not otherwise get to try.

The quick service plan allows you to enjoy counter service restaurants and the food courts.  I think at Walt Disney World, there are enough options at counter service locations that you wouldn't be bored.  Some theme parks are so heavy on burgers and fried chicken, but you'll find a really good variety of food on the quick service plan.  The other option allows you to enjoy a table service meal, which can be a nice way to end a day, or a great way to take an extended break in the afternoon.

I hope this helps you make your decision!
