If You have A Dining Plan!!!!!! Do you still Have To Bring Money For Food?

    Hi Avery,

The answer to this depends on how big an eater you are and on which type of dining plan you have, but in general, yes, you do need to budget a bit of money for food even if you have the dining plan.

For any table service restaurant, you will need to pay for your tip out of pocket. This should be about 18% of the cost of what your meal would have been if you did not have the plan.

If you have only the quick service plan, you many want to buy some supplementary food for a full third meal, or you may want to pay out of pocket for an occasional special table service meal.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you need more guidance.
