    We will be dining with a pary of 6 but one of those is a 3 year old, so does that make us accountable to the automatic 18% gratuity. Thanks

    Yes. Guests of any age, including preschoolers, toddlers, and even babies, factor into the headcount at your table. If you have six people at the table, whatever their age, then you will be subject to having an 18% gratuity automatically added to your bill at table service restaurants.

    I wouldn't worry about this too much. You have to tip your server no matter how many people are in your group, and 18% is a standard tip level at most sit-down restaurants these days.
