We will be dining on Dec. 31, 2013 at Chef Mickey's with our children (4 1/2 and 7 y.o). We aren't sure what our options will be from there in terms of New Year's Eve festivities. Will we still be able to get back into the parks to view the fireworks?

Hi, Joyce!  So, there are a few times a year when it seems pretty certain that the Magic Kingdom will fill to capacity, and no additional guests will be permitted to enter - even if you are returning from an earlier in the day visit.  New Year's eve is one of those days where the chances of the park closing to additional guests is an even greater possibility.

There is a chance when you leave to go to dinner, you may not be able to gain admission back into the Magic Kingdom.  If you are at the Contemporary Resort near fireworks time, you can head out onto the observation deck just across the way from Chef Mickey's and watch the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom right from that vantage point.  Another option is to see if you can book the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, which will take you out on a pontoon boat just in time for an amazing, unobstructed view - its like it's your own personal show!

I hope this helps you figure out what your plans will be!  Enjoy a magical holiday at Walt Disney World!
