We have dined at Whispering Canyon before and are thinking of diner at Ohana. Wondering if the same type of atmosphere -kid races, etc.? Two adults that love kids, but want to know what to expect. Thanks for all your help in the past.

Hi, Cynthia!  My youngest daughter's favorite two restaurants are Whispering Canyon Cafe and 'Ohana, if that's any indication of what you might expect.

We have been at 'Ohana when they have done coconut races and hula hoop competitions.  You might even see a limbo competition.  I have even seen some adults participating in the hula hoop and limbo contests.  It can get a little loud during the fun and festivities, but I don't think it is annoyingly so.  You can also ask for a table a little bit out of the way of the main floor space, where most of these types of events take place.  If you are looking for a quiet meal, this may not be the best option, but a table off in one of the corners gives you a bit more quiet than the main part of the dining room.

If you can handle Whispering Canyon, you should be able to handle the noise at 'Ohana.  You'll find the volume at about a similar level.  For me, once I hit my meat coma, I don't hear much of anything until someone says, "bread pudding."

    Have a wonderful time.
