Hi Christina! Welcome to planDisney!
If you're looking to stay in one of
Disney's Deluxe Resorts on your next stay at
Walt Disney World Resort you are going to have such a fabulous time! While I haven't stayed at each and every Disney Resorts Collection hotel (yet!) I have had the pleasure of staying at
Disney's Yacht Club Resort and my family and I have our very first stay at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa booked for our next vacation!
While my little guy is still tiny enough to snuggle in bed with me on vacation, my oldest daughter is the one looking for her own space in our Guest room! I was happy to chat with a Walt Disney World Cast Member today and learn the dimensions of the day beds in Disney Deluxe rooms versus the child-size pull-down beds in the 5th sleeper Guest rooms at Moderate Resorts.
In the 5th sleeper rooms at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, the child-size pull-down beds are approximately 63" x 30". Depending on how tall your son is I'm hoping he'll feel more comfortable on the day beds at the Deluxe Resorts which measure a little larger at 67" x 30". While this is still slightly smaller than a regular twin-sized bed, there's a saying that "there's no tired like Disney tired" so hopefully your son will still fit and sleep well! If you're looking for even larger accommodations you may look into a Villa at
Disney's Beach Club Villas, which still gives your family access to the incredible
Stormalong Bay pool area, while providing a pull-down bed that is approximately 72" x 33".
I promise that if you're rising early for "rope drop" and staying out late for nighttime spectacular fireworks like
Disney Enchantment and
Harmonious you will all sleep like babies throughout your stay! Please feel free to come back and see us again with any other planning questions, Christina!
