what's the difference between Walt Disney and Disneyland?

    Hello Lavinia,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel and for your question. I hope you are having a Zip-a-dee-doo-dah day!

The biggest difference between the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort is the size. The Walt Disney World Resort has four Theme Parks and two Water Parks, where Disneyland has two Theme Parks to choose from. However, Disneyland is the original Disney Park.

If you are referring to the iconic parks, Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park, these parks are both similar. They have similar layouts with Main Street U.S.A. leading down to the iconic Walt Disney statue with the big cheese himself, Mickey Mouse and then with a glorious castle behind.

However that's where the main difference would be, the castles. At Disneyland Park, the castle belongs to the beloved Sleeping Beauty and at Walt Disney World, the charming Cinderella is the sweet owner. Also another difference, at Disneyland, Sleeping Beauty's castle there are no guest rooms inside the castle unlike Cinderella's castle at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom there are Guest rooms inside.

Both Disney Parks are filled with Disney magic no matter which coast you may be visiting.

I hope this helps and that you have a pixie-dusted visit on your next Disney vacation! If you have any more questions, please visit me here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel and let me know how I can help you plan your magical vacation.

    Wishing you magic!
