What is the difference between staying at the Flordian & Port Orleans- Riverside w/a 5 yr.? Is the monorail worth double the price? Does DELUXE mean our stay will be more magical? I love the princess rooms at PO and the fireworks close & monorial a

    Hi Sharia!

All of the resorts at Walt Disney World are magical! The choice between Grand Floridian and Port Orleans is based on your family's preferences. I've stayed at both resorts and they both have pros and cons.

Grand Floridian is elegant and a deluxe resort in all senses. The resort has some of the best restaurants in all of Disney World: Narcoossee's, Citricos, 1900 Park Fare, Garden View Tea Room, Grand Floridian Cafe and the signature dining experience at Victoria & Albert's.

The resort is also on the monorail line, which offers great convenience to getting to the parks. At Disney World saving time is monumental and being on the monorail line definitely saves a lot of time.

Port Orleans is also wonderful. The princess rooms are gorgeous and your five year old will love the twinkling fiber optic fireworks above the bed, magic carpet in the carpet, princess mirrors and more. The resort has a theme with a New Orleans feel and the Louisiana Bayou.

The downside is that it is a bit further away from the parks and you will need to take a bus to each of the parks. But, this is a fun, lively resort for children and I think you will love it!

No matter what you choose, I know you will have a magical vacation!

    Magically,
