    What is the difference between a standard room and a preferred room at at value resort at Disneyworld?

    Terrie,

    The only difference between a standard and preferred room at a Walt Disney World value resort is the location. The preferred rooms are located closer to the main transportation center, the pool or the dining area. If you choose a preferred room, you can indicate the location you prefer. At Disney's All Star Movies resort, I always choose a preferred room so we can stay in the Toy Story section (my son's favorite Disney movie of all time). The Toy Story section is also close to the Cinema Hall Lobby and Food Court, which is where the buses pick up. 

    When considering the room, note that a preferred room can save you a lot of time, especially if you leverage the complimentary Disney bus transportation.
