Hi Linda!
Knowing the best way for you and your family to get to and from the parks ahead of time is a great plan, and can save you precious time during your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Because my husband and I currently live so close to the Walt Disney World Resort, he and I usually drive down for our vacations. Although we love the complimentary transportation options that are available to guests of the
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, we tend to still drive to the parks, and therefore are familiar with the various
parking options.
For Annual Passholders, Premium Passholders, Disney Premier Passport holders, and guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, standard parking at the theme parks is complimentary. For other guests, standard parking is currently $22 per day, but that price is subject to change. Preferred parking is currently $45 per day, but that price is also subject to change. Preferred parking is located closer to the park entrances than standard parking. Although it is possible to walk, trams do run from the standard parking lots to the park entrances. Sometimes we choose to walk, but often, we take the tram to save our energy for walking around and exploring the theme parks!
If you plan on traveling with a large group or with lots of little ones, you think you will be visiting multiple parks during a jam-packed, fast-paced, and fun-filled day, or you would just like to have quick and easy access to your car, preferred parking is for you! If you plan to stay in one park and are able to walk a little farther, standard parking should be just fine!
Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
